Twenty-Seven and still a commitment-phobe. Is there any hope?

If he isn't ready then you can't force him to be. If you truly feel that he is "the one" then waiting only seems to make sence. Give him another 6 months to a year to see where he stands, and if by then he still doesn't want to commit to you, then I would move on.
